Behind the flour and icing of Velvet Bakehouse you can find husband and wife team Sean and Cassandra.
After 15 years in retail management, Sean joined Cassandra in her successful Cambridge childcare recruitment business in 2008. Having worked together for 3 years, they decided to start a truly joint venture.
Velvet Bakehouse was launched in Norfolk in 2011. Following a fantastic response, the couple has headed back to their Cambridge roots to offer their services in both counties.
With one foot on the Norfolk coast and the other on the banks of the River Cam, Sean and Cassandra are excited to expand their East of England cupcake adventure.
Turning stereotypes on their heads and playing to the couple's strengths, you’ll find Sean in the kitchen covered in flour and Cassandra churning through spread sheets and business plans.
As self-proclaimed perfectionists, Sean and Cassandra are committed to creating the perfect customer experience. They are also passionate supporters of local suppliers and buy all their ingredients as locally as possible (browse their Norfolk suppliers here).
